HOW TO ZIP (COMPRESS) A FILE
To zip (and unzip a file) you need to get the PKZIP program, which I have sent you on your HOTMAIL account).
UNLOAD PKZIP INTO YOUR AREA
Log into your email account.
Double click on the attachment PKZIP for windows
Make sure you know which drive you have saved it on (preferably Drive C)
NSTALL PKZIP IN YOUR AREA
Go to that location and double click on PKZIP so that it is installed properly.
IP YOUR FILE
Point to and Click on FILE
Point to and Click on NEW
Point to and Click on ZIP FILE
Enter name of ZIP file in FILENAME (e.g. myzipfile)
Point to and Click on SAVE IN. Ensure it is on FLOPPY A:
Point to and Click on SAVE
Point to and Click on Drive and directory (folder) where file you want to zip is situated
Point to and Click on ADD FILES
Point to and Click on OK
Point to and Click on DONE
The Zipped file should now be on your disc
SEND YOUR ZIPPED FILE VIA EMAIL
Send your zipped file as normal as an attachment via email.
HOW TO UNZIP (UNCOMPRESS) YOUR FILE
Locate your attached zipped file
Double click on it to unzip it
