DATABASE EXERCISE 03

SCENARIO

You are working for a specialist record shop in the West End and have been asked to set up, on a computer, a file containing all extant recordings of the conductor, Guido Cantelli (1920-1956). This file, when filled with data, will provide a basis for answering customer queries and also, at a later stage, be incorporated into a stock-control system for the shop.

1. Power on your workstation and login.

2. Load a DATABASE program.

3. Design and enter a database file with five fields as follows:

1 COMPOSER

2 WORK

3 ORCHESTRA

4 RECYEAR

5 RECCATNO

4. Enter the following data for the first 20 records, making sure that each item of data is put next to the correct field-title.

NOTE: ALL PRINT OUTS MUT HAVE YOUR NAME AND DATE AS A HEADER OR FOOTER.
